The final test of a gentleman is his respect for those who can be of no possible service to him. William Lyon Phelps

A gentleman is defined as a civilized, educated, sensitive or well-mannered man. Perspective is defined as the state of one’s idea. Each day is a reflection of who I am, because it begins with a gentleman’s state of mind and ends just the same.

I find that young boys enter adulthood, completely unaware of what it means to be a man. When you lack this comprehension, all facets of your life will suffer: relationships, sense of self, style, financial literacy and principles.

I have witnessed rather discouraging concerns among the youth, which means without correction, these elements become part of their journey into adulthood.

An adult male absent with the understanding of self, finds no reason to respect women. An adult male lacking respect for women, will never realize a woman’s worth.

An adult male with no sense of self, is unlikely to grasp the importance of first impressions.

We not only convey first impressions through vocal communication and mannerisms, but physical appearance as well. The way we dress plays a role in the manner others will perceive us.

An adult male lacking a sense of self, will have difficulty in both spirituality and accepted rules of conduct. Understanding the value of finance comes from those that seek knowledge—a challenge most difficult among the youth, which are now men according to societal definitions.

Through my perspective, I will encourage others to practice the art of being a gentleman. A gentleman respects and honors women. A gentleman understands how to dress, the moment he enters the outside world.

A gentleman is a man of principle, even away from the presence of others. A gentleman comprehends that financial literacy is not a choice, but a must. A gentleman knows who he is, because he has taken the time to develop a relationship with himself.

Accompany me on this journey of style, relationship, finance and etiquette…all through the lens of One Gentleman’s Perspective.
